Although normally I produce four-to-the-floor, I thought I’d pull in other influences for this rework; particularly my love of dub reggae. So I cranked the bass up and re-eq’d it to pull out the subs. The lead melody in the original gave me a repeating hook which played to my dance-music sensibilities. I processed it and rephrased it via Ableton’s sample editor functions. I loved the crunchy guitars of the original which gave the track a real analogue feel. Drums were programmed with numerous percussive hits and chopped loops. Basically, I threw everything and the kitchen sink at it and had a wail of a time!
